Join us for an extraordinary opportunity to engage in a shared experience of artistic beauty and spiritual contemplation, set in the serene ambiance of our historic church. This event promises to connect deeply with our heritage while resonating with contemporary spiritual journeys.

A Celebrated History

To mark the 150th Anniversary of the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in 2022, the Parish commissioned a special Passion oratorio inspired by Pilate’s Daughter. This Lenten passion play, which has been a significant part of our parish history, was performed for decades. Written in 1902 by Redemptorist priest Rev. F.L. Kenzel, Pilate’s Daughter is recognized as "America's Oldest Passion Play" and was seen by over three million people during its impressive 60+ year run.

A Unique Spiritual and Artistic Event

The text for this new original sacred work for choir and strings is written by playwright David Mulei, drawn from the sacred writings by St. Therese of Lisieux, Julian of Norwich, St. Catherine of Siena, and St. Teresa of Avila. This performance promises to honor Our Lady of Perpetual Help’s deep historical roots and resonate with a contemporary audience. The oratorio will be performed by a select ensemble of world-class musicians, featuring a string quartet and four distinguished vocalists.
